Donald Trump becomes the first U.S. President to be impeached twice

President Donald Trump was impeached by the House of the United States for a historic second time on January 13 on charges of “inciting insurgency” following the deadly siege of the Capitol mob in a rapid and staggering collapse of his last days in power. He was first indicted in 2019 for his relations with Ukraine.

The House voted 232-197 to impeach Mr. Trump. The process unfolded at lightning speed, with lawmakers voting just a week after the violent pro-M. Trump loyalists have stormed the US Capitol, urged by the president’s calls to “fight like hell” against the election results.
