International Animation Day: 28 October
International Animation Day is celebrated around the world on October 28 each year. The day celebrated the art of animation and also recognized the artists, scientists and technicians behind animation. This was the 19th International Animation Day. The day was created in 2002 by the International Association of Animated Films (ASIFA), an international association of animated films, member of UNESCO.
History of the International Animation Day:
ASIFA created the International Day of Animation (IAD) in 2002, in homage to the birth of animation, recognized as the first public performance of projected moving images: the Optical Theater of Emile Reynaud in Paris , October 28, 1892.
